Deaf Chonky is a drum-guitar-misc duo of two girls, Tami and Adi, from a small town south of Tel Aviv. They play garage-punk heavily influenced by the folk music of their childhood. Deaf Chonky (derived from the Russian word 'defchonki' - girls) released their debut album 'FARSH' in August 2016, which gained widespread popularity in the local scene. In 2017, Deaf Chonky released ‘Silence is Violence’, a short EP delving deeper into their folk-music influences, quite in contrast to their chaotic energy-intense live shows, and are currently working on their 2nd full-length album. In 2018, Deaf Chonky will be releasing a record through Garzen Records compiled of songs from Farsh and remixed by Garzen's greatest Red Axes and Manfredas.
