Eleanor, do you store the secrets of the world in your brown curls?
Eleanor, do you keep tricks up your sleeve in holes six-foot deep?
I do my best to impress
Eleanor seems to walk the same way she talks: fingers wrapped in her locks
She plays her part - doctor for bleeding hearts, for the hopeless at best
What a noble task in a world that’s such a hopeless mess
I didn’t know where to go, -- I turned on the radio
And playing so slow was an Austrian waltz
Everything I see I keep, I see I keep, ‘cause if I wouldn’t there would be heaps and heaps of poison seep
Bloodman said, “for country I die,”
So bloodman died, “for country’s pride”
But he was so wrong, the poor thing died blind,
‘Cause this land ain’t yours, and this land ain’t mine
‘Cause no land belongs to fuckin mankind
And I object the genocide
And I object the ethnocide
And I object the pesticide
What am I for? Oh so hard to decide
Don’t milk the cow
I don’t need your pride
Don’t take the land
Just bend your knees and die
I am mad but I won’t hate, ‘cause that would be oh-such a waste
Of energy, and empathy, and everything inside of me
So just between you and me, don’t tell them that I need to breathe
Just between you and me: don’t tell them that I need to breathe
Don’t tell them that I need to breathe
Don’t tell them that I need to sleep
Don’t tell them that I need to eat
Don’t tell them I’m just human meat
Great protopunk-inspired album that includes surf music as salty as the Dead Sea. Track 2 (“Buffalo Bill”) is like showdown with Juniore at high noon. Cameron Toll
Ooh I tried not to buy this album at first but it crept up on me & made me fall in love with it. Every track is great with killer hooks. Love the pace of it. energygirl
